Beautiful girl out of Snowmass Kahuna's Dreamer. AO’s 2022 cria arrived on 10/19/22 – a beautiful light fawn male that hit the ground strong and sturdy. AO has proven to be an excellent dam with plenty of milk. Her new cria, Kalyke, regularly gained over a half pound a day. At 7 months old, he weighs almost as much as our yearlings at over 80 pounds.
"AO", as we call her, carries fineness in combination with an extremely good staple length. Her EPDs reflect a no-compromise combination of genetic potential for fineness, uniformity, and fleece weight. Plus, it all comes on a superior frame – and she has it!
We’re so excited about A.O’s service sire, Snowmass Rising Sun! We just got to see two of his first offspring at the Buckeye Fall Fest and they’re beautiful!! Prior to seeing them, we’d been planning to wait until Spring to start breeding him here at MMFA, but…after seeing him and his offspring, we decided to get right to it…please see his webpage! His Grade 1 fleece is fine and uniform with wonderful handle at almost 6 years old!
Rising Sun's sire, Snowmass Legend Rising, was a legend in his own right -- with 4 Judges Choice banners, including one at the 2015 AOA National Show -- a National Supreme Champion! Judges commented "...this is what we're breeding for..." Advanced fleece, strong frame. Rising Sun's dam, Houdini's Vixen, was a Champion female who produced champions, and she carried an AFD of less than 18 microns, with a CF of 98.9 at 5 years old -- that's lasting fineness!
So...based on what we’ve seen, we expect excellence in Rising Sun’s offspring!
