We simply must reduce our herd size due to loss of farm help and a sudden medical situation. "Sissy" is an Alpaca Palace Houdini granddaughter from her dam's side that also carries deep Snowmass genetics on the sire side. Her 2023 histogram, at almost 4 year’s old and following two full pregnancies, are still excellent, and her EPD’s are also. Sissy is also a very sweet alpaca -- certainly very easy to handle.
Sissy delivered a beige female cria, Lila, on 6/28/24 out of Alpaca Palace Legend’s Rising Sun. Lila was cria tipped in early August, and the fleece that's growing out is looking pretty amazing! It’s this little girl that makes me not want to sell her mama.
Lila's sire, “Sunny”, has the softest fleece I may have ever sunk my hands into — the soft staples break into little match stick bundles with beautiful crimp from skin to tip. Sunny's fleece is amazing at almost 6 years old! His 2023 histogram puts his fleece stats at 18.5 micron with only 0.4 % over 30 microns and an SD of 3.8! Of only a few offspring (6 so far), one just garnered his second Championship as a 2-year old at the 2024 CAC Show - Alpaca Palace Superman, and Alpaca Palace Girlfriend has also taken top honors.
Sissy's dam, Alpaca Palace Houdini's Sumthn Else, was one of Alpaca Palace's most treasured dams, with extreme uniformity and fineness. At 5 years old, her fleece stats rivaled many crias at AFD: 18.6, SD: 3.8, CV: 20.5, %>30u: 0.9, and at almost 9 years old, it's only 1.5 micron higher! We're grateful to now have "Elsie" in the Man in the Moon foundation herd.
Sissy's sire, Snowmass Divine Heart, is an unbelievable male straight out of Divine Inspiration and the Snowmass Lilly lines! Snowmass Quechua out of Accoyo Elite anchors Inspirations sire side, while the Snowmass Snowbells line anchors the dams side of Inspiration. Snowmass Lillystar has 4P Legacy and Don Julio in her pedigree. Divine Heart earned 14 blues and 7 Championships for his resume and his show career was stellar. His density is phenomenal at 76 which put him in the top 3% of males at the time of his skin biopsy!
