Man in the Moon’s Zenon

Dark Star’s first offspring, Zenon, was awarded 1st Place and Reserve Champion at his first two shows (at 8.6 months old)!!! He’s growing well in both fleece and conformation, and is now available as a Jr Herdsire. Dark Star produced a light fawn (or possibly beige) male cria on 11/4/23 out of Alpaca Palace Legend’s Rising Sun, that’s looking (…and feeling) very promising. Initially, it was hard to ascertain density, but after just a few weeks it’s very apparent in the fleece just next to his skin — very fine with excellent handle and dense. His sire, Legends Rising Sun, has incredible matchstick bundles full of a well-defined crimp and brightness, and he's maintaining uniformity and fineness across his blanket. His histogram at 5.9 YEARS old is phenomenal with a Grade 1 fleece! We had the opportunity to see 2 of his first offspring at the 2022 Buckeye Fall Fest and they were stunning! If there had been a third offspring there, he probably would have had a good shot at winning Get of Sire. Dark Star’s first cria arrived on 5/23/22. He’s a healthy 16.3 pound male out of Zagato’s Zumba. Zenon's long fawn fleece is full of character and it just glows! Dark Star’s fleece has excellent length, density and crimp. The judges have recognized the uniformity of Dark Star's fleece across the blanket and into her extremities...and the length of her fleece is another strong point. Her dam was maintaining a very nice length as a 10-year old breeding female, and it measured over 4" long at her eighth shearing!
