12/27/2019 Today was a sad day on the farm. We lost this beautiful gem - she was truly our favorite girl. Alivia gave us three beautiful girls and they are her legacy. We'll keep the one we still own...MMFA Elite Maxine. Alivia is a prime example of a breeding dam that has retained a high quality uniform fleece well into her mature years. With her uniformity and Vicuna coloring, she is a rare gem that is a fantastic addition to our foundation herd. Her crias are absolutely beautiful---each maintaining extremely fine crimp structure, incredible fineness and uniformity, and excellent staple length. They would be good candidates for Produce of Dam. Alivia is a great mom, and she proved herself with her August 2016 cria (out of Snowmass Royal Rose), WP Royal Lyvi (SOLD). She also proved that she can throw color! Lyvi is a light brown female with exquisite fleece characteristics. She won 2nd place in walking fleece (67.5/80) at 2018 Heart of Virginia right behind the Color Champion, who was none other than AMAF Lucy's Little Ricky -- a multi-champ and Judges Choice male. July 2017 cria, MMFA Elite Maxine, is out of The Elite Maximus. She is a beautiful white female with 2018 histogram stats of 15.3/3.5/22.6/0.3 and she received a blue ribbon at her first show. One of our very best dams is an Elite Maximus daughter with histogram stats of 18.5/3.5/19.0/0.6 at 5 years old---and passing it on with density to boot! We expect Elite Maxine to do the same. September 2018 cria, Ganymede's Summer Moon (SOLD), didn't disappoint. She's an extremely nice little girl that we can't wait to get into the show ring. She's been recently weaned and we hope to show her in Spring 2019. Her new owners will be showing her--yay! Alivia is out of the great SA Peruvian Apollo, an impact herdsire with more than 180 registered offspring and hundreds of descendants from there. He obviously received and passed on the amazing genetics of his parents, PPPeruvian Royal Fawn 6014 and PPPeruvian Aphrodite 5070, both direct imports that have contributed greatly to the positive progression of the alpaca industry today.

Price includes Fall '18 breeding to Ganymede! WP Royal Lyvi' is a special girl who's maintaining her elite fleece stats at 18.0 AFD/3.5 SD/19.5 CV/0.7 %>30 (2018) with a Spin Fineness of 17.3. We expect Lyvi to hold her fineness just like her amazing parents. Her pricing reflects the fact that Man in the Moon Farm is going light -- we're breeding for light and white fiber, so even our best darks are now for sale at super prices. Purchase at least one more alpaca from MMFA, and we can negotiate an even better price. As soon as she's ready, Lyvi may be bred to Ganymede, the 2017 AOA Light Male National Supreme Champion, multiple Color Champion & 4X Judge's Choice recipient.

Lyvi has excellent staple length and a Royal Grade 1 fiber with a lovely handle and brightness. Her pedigree is stellar with potential to produce some amazing results in her future offspring. Her breeding to Man in the Moon's Peruvian Ganymede is just a super bonus on top of that. He is an amazing boy -- his show record and his skin biopsy results indicate that he possesses strong and desirable fiber traits that he's likely to pass to his offspring. This breeding should add density and character, and lock it all in place -- fineness, uniformity, consistency, brightness, and staple length!

Lyvi's sire, Snowmass Royal Rose, was one of Snowmass's top producing males and is known for his fine fleece charateristics and his ability to pass it on to his offspring. With over 2000 registered descendants in this country, this seminal son of Hemingway carries thoroughly proven genetics that have stood the test of time. He is permanently closed to outside breedings. Lyvi is definitely a reflection of her Sire's elite progeny!

Lyvi's dam, SA Peruvian Alivia, is a prime example of a breeding dam that has retained a high quality uniform fleece. She holds a Baby Grade 2 fleece, with only 1.9%>30 at 7 years old. Alivia is out of the great SA Peruvian Apollo, an impact herdsire with more than 180 registered offspring and hundreds of descendants from there.

Purchase Terms

Standard industry contracts are used. Breeding quality alpacas come with reproductive and live birth guarantees. You may take possession of your alpacas once the down payment is received and the “contract for purchase” signed by both parties. Transfer of ownership with ARI will not occur until full payment is received. Financing is available with 25 - 33% down, with up to 24 monthly payments. Buyer must purchase full mortality insurance for alpaca and offspring, if any, naming Man in the Moon Farm LLC as beneficiary on balance due until paid in full. Breedings include 60 day agistment unless otherwise noted. Special pricing often available for multiple alpaca purchases or multiple breeding purchase. Transportation responsibility of buyer.
